Sriracha Turkey Mince Lettuce Wraps (San choy bau)

You may use chicken, pork or beef mince instead. Sriracha sauce tastes tangy and sweet, available at Asian groceries or supermarkets. You might like to adjust the amount of it to your liking.

Yield: 5 to 6 serves

Ingredients:
  • 350 gm turkey mince
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 spring onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 1 iceberg lettuce
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • sesame oil, to taste
Marinade:
  • 3 tsp light soy sauce
  • white pepper, to taste
  • 2 tsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tbsp water
Method:
  1. Mix turkey mince with marinade. Cut and trim the iceberg lettuce into cups. Rinse and pat dry. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or pan over medium heat. Saute garlic. Add turkey mince. Use a spatula to break up the mince along the way of stir frying, until turns brown. Stir in spring onion and red chilli. Drizzle sesame oil. Dish up in a large bowl.
  3. Spoon about two to three large spoons of cooked turkey mince into the lettuce cups. Drizzle lime juice. Enjoy!
